THE DOCTORS
| Dr Helen Jefford |

| Qualified at the Welsh National School of Medicine. She spent some years in hospital medicine, then had her first experience of primary care whilst working in a rural health programme in Nigeria. She subsequently did her final year of general practice training in Wales, before joining the practice in April 1988. |

Trained in London before completing vocational training in West Suffolk. He joined the practice in January 1992. He is married with children

Worked as a surgeon in the Middle East and North Africa. Further training in plastic / orthorpaedic surgery in New Zealand, then GP Vocational training in Lincolnshire.

Qualified from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1999. She did some of her early training in Newcastle and then worked in Australia for a year. Her GP vocational training scheme was in Frimley, Surrey and she now lives in Brighton. |

THE PRACTICE MANAGER
Geraldine Anscombe Dip PM is available to help you with administrative or non-medical aspects of the practice.
PRACTICE NURSES
Janet Byrne qualified at Charing Cross Hospital in 1988. Janet has been at the practice since September 2006. Her special interests include diabetes, coronary heart disease, palliative care, wound care and respiratory care.
Katy Marsden graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 1997 with a degree in nursing and worked for two years at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. She then moved overseas and worked for three years in Australia and New Zealand interspersed with travelling around South East asia and Fiji until 2003. She then returned to the UK and moved to Brighton, working in A&E and Cardiology. In 2006 she moved into practice nursing at a surgery in Central Brighton. She joined our practice in 2009.
Phlebotomy
The practice nurses are supported by two phlebotomists. Blood test clinics are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
THE RECEPTIONISTS AND ADMINISTRATION TEAM
Our staff at the practice endeavour to give you the best possible service. They will treat you as an individual, irrespective of your ethnic origin, religion, age, sex, appearance or illness. The receptionists will help you with any general queries or problems. We have an area away from the reception desk where you can speak to our staff about confidential matters.
TRAINING PRACTICE
Our practice team is pleased to be involved in teaching and training. We will regularly be having medical students attending the practice and other registered doctors who are experiencing general practice as part of their professional development. Sometimes the doctor may wish to video record their consultations. Your permission will always be requested beforehand.
